Zidane: "Cristiano will be okay for the (Champions League) final"

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho believes Real Madrid star and former Red Devils player Cristiano Ronaldo can lead Portugal to World Cup glory this summer.

The five-time Ballon d'Or victor suffered the injury during Madrid's 2-2 draw with Barcelona in El Clasico Sunday at Camp Nou in Barcelona, Spain.

Cristiano Ronaldo suffered an ankle injury recently, weeks before a massive Champions League final with Liverpool. Speaking about the 2014 World Cup runners-up, Mourinho said, "I think that without Lionel (Messi), the Argentinian national team wouldn't be in contention". "The worst is Cristiano, because it's just happened, but he's fine", he said via The Daily Mail.

"He was a little anxious because it was a bit swollen, but he said that it's nothing serious", Zidane said following the stalemate.

Neymar's move to Real Madrid is well and truly on!

Ronaldo drew Real Madrid level at 1-1 as he continued his stunning goal-scoring form, netting for the 21st time in 12 La Liga appearances.

The Real boss, Zinedine Zidane has eased the fear of the fans, revealing that the injury was only a sprain and would not keep him out to the point of missing the UEFA final.

Liverpool can complete an wonderful journey to become European champions by beating Madrid in Kiev, but the Reds will know that Ronaldo is the major threat in the Spanish side's ranks.

"What's incredible is that [Ronaldo] is already out on the pitch, walking, 48 hours after getting injured". He really wants to get back and always wants to play.

"It's a little sprain but there's not a lot of damage. The ankle is stable".

Neymar is now sidelined with a foot injury, but is hopeful of returning to action ahead of the World Cup.
