You Can Now Broadcast Messages Across Amazon Echos with Alexa

For example, you can say "Alexa, broadcast." and it will start streaming your voice across all speakers in your house.

Users can order Alexa to "announce" something in one Echo device, and then it will transmit the announcement throughout all the devices in the house.

"Alexa Announcements make Echo devices in your home even more valuable by reaching the whole family at once".

In addition to the nationwide availability, the firm also announced that customers can now choose from five new smart locks from lock manufacturers Kwikset, and Yale, bringing the total to eight.

Does Alexa Announcements work everywhere? The feature is only launching in the USA and Canada right now. Alexa can be used to lock the door, ask for lock status and view the live feed from Cloud Cam on compatible devices like Fire TV, Echo Spot, and Echo Show.

The company also announced that the new feature will only be rolled out for users in the U.S. and Canada. However, the message will still only be transmitted to the smart speakers, not including the Alexa apps on mobile devices.

Yep. Google began offering this same functionality for its Google Home line of smart speakers this past November.

So, if you said to your Echo speaker "Alexa, tell everyone dinner is ready", your voice saying "dinner is ready" would be broadcast through every other speaker in your home.

With the expansion, Amazon has added a new feature - exit and entry video clips.
