Authorities in Houston have taken a woman into custody after witnesses reported she set her vehicle on fire as she sat inside with her three children.
According to KHOU, the woman is accused of trying to kill her three daughters-ages 9, 11, and 13-Sunday night at a Houston auto wash. There were about 20 people at the facility when the incident took place. Her children are now with relatives. Fox26 reports that Houston Fire Department arson investigators are conducting an investigation Monday morning. The woman's three children - ages 9, 11, and 13 - were inside.
A Harris County Precinct 7 deputy constable located Segovia and took her into custody, Houston Police said. According to police, the woman made remarks that "we are going to go see Jesus". Police say she abandoned the two older girls on W. Orem and dragged her 9-year-old child toward the bayou. She then chose to leave with the kids.
The woman left on foot with the children but was later arrested and is facing three counts of aggravated assault on a family member, AP said. The woman will also undergo a mental evaluation, police said.
