Man tasered on Miami-Chicago flight after reportedly groping passenger

An American Airlines flight to Chicago was delayed after an uncooperative passenger was removed from the plane.

"American began the process of deplaning the entire aircraft". Once law enforcement was on the aircraft, the passenger then became combative with the officers from the Miami-Dade Police Department.

Jordan Liss, a witness who shared video on YouTube, said a man touched another man's girlfriend inappropriately and made racist remarks to the gate agent. Flight attendants then asked Garcia to move to another seat, but instead of cooperating, he reportedly "began to scream [at] and insult" the couple, provoking a physical argument.

When officers entered the aircraft on Sunday night, Garcia continued to remonstrate with them, asking why they were removing him from the plane.

Police used a Taser on the man multiple times before he was arrested and escorted off the plane.

"You just assaulted a lady for one", another passenger said in one of the videos.

Garcia can be heard talking back to the officers and refused to get off the plane. Throughout the ordeal, Garcia struggles with the officers despite one's warning "don't fight me", resulting in the use of the taser.

Officer Roody Desroches, who is holding Garcia by the collar of his blue plaid shirt, agrees, and gives Garcia a heads-up: "I'm about to tase you!" he says, discharging the electronic control weapon. Other passengers cheer as he finally rides away.

Eventually, the taser does appear to work and officers were able to take him into custody.

By that time, Miami-Dade police were called. "The same passenger was subsequently arrested by law enforcement".

Garcia's return to Chicago will be even further behind schedule - he was booked into Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on charges of battery, disorderly conduct, resisting an officer without violence, criminal mischief and attempting to deprive an officer with means of protection.
