The driver of the bus, Steven F. Hoppenbrouwer, 61, of Gwinnett County, was charged with DUI and failure to maintain lane. The driver ran off the right side, then overcorrected before the bus overturned in the median, according to a patrol news release.
Some later reports claimed that there were only 18 passengers on the bus during the crash, although the number at this time is unclear; it is possible different reports included the driver himself and other did not, but this in unconfirmed.
He also declined to say if Hoppenbrouwer was an employee or contracted to drive the bus. WhitePages.com showed there were two places listed as Hoppenbrouwer's residence as of March.

The bus flipped while on a Georgia interstate highway, injuring several people, per the report.
The bus is owned by Jet Executive Limousine, GSP said.
Nine victims were taken to Doctors Hospital in Augusta; one person is in critical condition, one victim is in serious condition, and one patient is in fair condition, the hospital said.
All seven people being treated at AUMC are adults.
Officials at Augusta University Medical Center told KRDW they were treating seven people involved in the crash.
The bus was carrying with 19 passengers when it flipped on I-20 eastbound near mile marker 185.
The crash blocked Interstate 20 in both directions about 15 miles (25 kilometers) from the tournament at Augusta National Golf Club along a major route from Atlanta, where many golf fans fly in before driving the last leg.
