Telangana BJP spokesperson Krishna Saagar Rao claimed the CMs pitch for a front was aimed at elevating himself in national politics which would help him with a tag of "vendetta politics" if some agency were to target him for his governments corrupt practices.
He alleged that both BJP and Congress, who ruled for most of the time since independence, had miserably failed to address real issues of people, and unless an alternative emerges the country will continue to have the same politics of allegations and counter-allegations and brick-batting between them.
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today called Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao on phone in the afternoon and conveyed her total support to his Third Front proposal and qualitative change in politics.
The police teams were deployed near the State BJP office and the residences of Hyderabad BJP president N Ramchander Rao, party floor leader in Assembly G Kishan Reddy, legislators NVSS Prabhakar and Raja Singh in the wee hours of the day.
"We thought that Congress will go and BJP will come and bring change. There is no secret about it", he had said when asked if he was in talks with other non-Congress, non-BJP leaders.
"People are looking for change. I would reiterate that KCR can definitely play and should play an important role in getting all the non-Congress and the non-BJP parties (together) and that is what he hinted at yesterday".
He said that the new platform could be a third front or any other front and he will not mind being a part of the change."It can be a third front or any front". It has been learnt that KCR will very soon undertake a "Delhi Yatra" to meet heads of various regional parties and Left Parties to take his initiative forward. Discussions are going on.
Dr K Laxman, Telangana BJP President, said, "BJP Telangana is demanding CM KC Rao to withdraw his words made against PM Modi".
PMK (Pattali Makkal Katchi) leaders S Ramdoss and GK Mani from Tamil Nadi, who were KCR's good friends, extended wishes and informed TRS leader they will stand by him.
Rao has also stated the call for the front is not against Prime Minister Narenrdra Modi but the slow progress of the country.
