His vehicle sustained an estimated $8,000 in damages, and the guardrail another $5,000, per local reports.
According to an incident report from the Concord Police Department, Jeff Hardy was arrested and charged with DWI following a crash on Concord Parkway South just after 10:30 p.m. on Saturday. The report also indicates Hardy underwent some sort of test for alcohol but that the results were pending at the time of the arrest. It was estimated by police on the scene that Hardy did $8,000 of damage to his 2016 Cadillac and $5,000 to the guardrail itself.
The 40-year-old wrestler was booked for Driving While Intoxicated and will stand trial in April. "We are investigating the matter and awaiting information from local law enforcement officials".
He has a court date set for April 16, eight days after WrestleMania 34, which is set for April 8 in New Orleans, media outlets reported. In a more serious case, Hardy was arrested in 2009 on charges of trafficking and possession of anabolic steroids.
Hardy, a former World and Tag Team Champion best known as one half of The Hardy Boyz alongside his brother Matt Hardy, has been out of action in WWE since suffering a torn right rotator cuff in September.
Hardy is now shelved with a shoulder injury, but was recently cleared to return to the ring. The legal limit in NC is.08.
Hardy was fingerprinted and taken before a magistrate where he was given a written promise to appear in court.
