Worldwide Accommodations Leader, Airbnb Plus is today celebrating the company's 10th anniversary with offering such new modest form of its hospitality service that promises to reach hundreds of different criteria and certain luxurious amenities.
This new tier will be followed by "Beyond by Airbnb" and "Collections", which will feature more luxury, upscale homes as Airbnb continues to rehab an image that had fallen far too far into budget conscious territory-especially in the travel community.
The roadmap includes the addition of two new tiers of Airbnb properties: Airbnb Plus and Beyond by Airbnb, which represents a big investment in luxury travel. It's a new tier that's "intended for guests looking for attractive homes" and "exceptional hosts", according to the company.
Airbnb is making tools available to hosts to categorise their listings with more detail and providing search capabilities that will allow any traveller to find the host and home that's right for them.
Also unveiled was Airbnb Plus, a tier of homes that provide "outstanding hospitality", according to the company.
Brian Chesky said, "10 years ago we never dreamed of what Airbnb could become".
Airbnb today is one of the world's largest accommodation platforms with 4.5 million places to stay in 81,000 cities.
Certainly it has an ambitious target for a decade from now of arranging one billion overnight stays a year - that's three times as many as all the stays Airbnb has had since it was founded. Airbnb said it's adding these new listings so that people will have more options to choose from to best match their preferences. Unlike many online publications, we don't have a paywall or run banner advertising, because we want to keep our journalism open, without influence or the need to chase traffic. The program launch will offer 10,000 users these custom bonus experiences.
Airbnb Plus is available now, beginning with 2,000 homes in 13 cities. Unique spaces includes things like treehouses and Airstreams, while boutique hotels would be non-chain hotels.
The company's new "Collections" feature aims to meet the needs of consumers traveling for a wider variety of occasions, including new property categories to roll out later this year for weddings, honeymoons, group getaways and dinner parties.
Hosts and guests are the heart of Airbnb.
Meanwhile, another significant update is the addtion of the Airbnb "plus" offering for properties that have been inspected and verified for quality against a 100+ point checklist covering cleanliness, comfort and design such as fully equipped kitchens. These will enjoy benefits such as top placement, in-home services and premium support. Last but not least Superhosts will be able to take advantage of a range of new member benefits and the most exceptional guests will also be recognised for the first time via a Superguest category.
