Comedian Jerry Van Dyke Dies at 86


TMZ reported Dyke died on Friday afternoon at the family's Arkansas ranch.

Jerry Van Dyke, comedian, actor, and brother of Dick Van Dyke, dies at 86. She says they were involved in a auto accident over 2 years ago. and Jerry's health had deteriorated since.

A stand-up comic, Van Dyke made his TV debut on "The Dick Van Dyke Show" as Stacey Petrie, the brother of Dick's Rob Petrie, making four appearances over the run of the series.




Jerry's best known for his role on "Coach". where he earned 4 Emmy nominations playing Asst. Coach Luther Van Dam with Craig T Nelson.

He also acted in the thriller Run If You Can opposite Oscar victor Martin Landau and the 1969 comedy Angel In My Pocket with star Andy Griffith. Jerry Van Dyke's wife Shirley Ann Jones told the Times that his health had been deteriorating since he was in a traffic accident back in 2015.

He reunited on screen with his celebrity sibling on The Middle, where Dick guest starred as the estranged brother of Van Dyke's character, Tag.
