Dave Chappelle To White Trump Voters: You're Poor, He's Fighting For Me

And to my surprise, you know what I didn't see?' he says.

Dave Chappelle is releasing a new stand-up special on New Year's Eve, and the first clip from it has just been released, for your amusement.

'I didn't see one deplorable face in that group.

This will cap a banner year for the comedian - the previous specials marked his first concert specials in 12 years and they rocketed to success, while he also won an Emmy in September for Outstanding Guest Actor for his work hosting a 2016 episode of Saturday Night Live.

In a trailer for his upcoming Netflix comedy special, Chappelle recalled speaking to Trump voters on Election Day and realizing the issue he has with white Americans.

Chappelle said he encountered many Trump voters on Election Day of previous year: "To my surprise, you know what I didn't see?" Chappelle has slammed Mr. Trump in the past. The two specials ("Dave Chappelle: Equanimity", "Dave Chappelle: The Bird Revelation") will be available on December 31st and these are Dave's third and fourth comedy specials that have come out exclusively to Netflix in 2017. "You are poor - he's fighting for me!"

Chappelle, 44, reportedly inked a deal a year ago with Netflix worth $60 million dollars for a trio of comedy specials.

Chappelle went on to say that the Trump supporters he met seemed like "decent folk" but that he "felt sorry for them".

The teaser for the Netflix special, Equanimity, includes a timely Trump joke given recent passage of the doomed Republican tax bill. However, the other side of the argument states that lower-class people do benefit from tax cuts for businesses, because of what's called "trickle-down economics" - the concept which explains the way tax cuts stimulate economic growth, thus higher wages, and more jobs.
