Chelsea boss Antonio Conte declared his side's title defence was over after Saturday's defeat at West Ham, but his players responded to a man as goals from Tiemoue Bakayoko, Willian and Pedro secured them victory at a canter.
Huddersfield, who had won three of their previous four home games, offered little in the way of attacking threat until Laurent Depoitre nodded in a 92nd-minute header and David Wagner now needs to pick his side up for a hard trip to Watford on Saturday.
Conte did, however, have plenty of positive things to say about Chelsea's performance.
"They must get back to winning ways against the Terriers although it won't be easy in the John Smith's Stadium".
"There is a problem in this league: there are six top teams and only four places for the Champions League", Conte told the club's website.
The Blues have won the Premier League in two of the last three seasons.
"Now we must be focused in the league to go game by game, to do our best. They are in a good moment of form and we must be very good to be more clinical in this game, because in the recent period we weren't clinical".
"It's good to always keep the chance for every player to show that he deserves to play".
Chelsea cruised by Huddersfield after suffering a shock defeat to West Ham in their last Premier League outing.
"Always when I play I want to play well and make a difference".
The Brazilian then turned provider again five minutes into the second half as he set up Pedro to whip a shot into the top corner from 15 yards.
Chelsea's first attempt on target resulted in the opening goal, with Eden Hazard sparking the move which broke the deadlock.
Michy Batshuayi recently made his return against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League, while Charly Musonda and Kenedy returned to play for the Development Squad against MK Dons last Wednesday in a 4-0 win. "We beat United here - we deserved to beat them - and we ran City close".
