OnePlus 5T may not have the jelly scrolling issue

After months of leaks, OnePlus 5T was unveiled to the world this Thursday. This is one of the primary changes that we see on the OnePlus 5T from the OnePlus 5.

OnePlus has built its brand around the concept of offering phones with flagship specs at prices far below its competitors. It is powered by a 64 bit 2.45GHz Octa core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 Processor with 6GB/8GB of RAM. Like Apple's system, face unlocking on the OnePlus 5T can be used to unlock the phone and it works in 0.4 seconds according to OnePlus, so it's slower than the 0.2 seconds the fingerprint reader takes.

Namely, you get a "new view", thanks to a larger screen with thinner bezels, revised rear-facing dual cameras and even added facial recognition, starting at $499 stateside, or 20 bucks more than the "entry-level" OnePlus 5 configuration. The OnePlus 5T embraces the new trend and features an all-screen design with a 6.01-inch display and an 18:9 aspect ratio. As its name suggests, it's an evolution of the OnePlus 5.

The OnePlus 5T will launch at the same price point as its predecessor in India.

The knock-on effect of this move is that the phone no longer has capacitive buttons for home and recent apps on the front of the phone below the screen. Additionally, HDFC Bank debit and credit cards users are eligible for a Rs 1,500 instant discount on a purchase of OnePlus 5T through till 2nd December 2017.

In terms of display, the iPhone X has a 5.8-inch, 1125x2436 display, the OnePlus 5T packs in a 6.01-inch, 1080x2160 display, leaving iPhone X users with a much sharper display as compared to the OnePlus 5T.

OnePlus isn't the only company suffering from this unusual omission, as the Razer Phone similarly ships with an earlier version of Android. The rear dual camera has been altered, ditching the telephoto setup that provided a 2x optical zoom for two cameras both using the same fast f1.7 lenses for better low-light performance. OnePlus says the 20MP lens will take care of photography matters when in low-light conditions by grouping pixels in batches of four so that more light and details are captured thanks to something known as Intelligent Pixel Technology. The handset runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box and it will reportedly get the Oreo upgrade soon. The battery capacity also remains unchanged at 3300mAh alongside support for Dash Charge fast charging technology.
